Ellisonpeople are recruiting for a Technical Manager to work for a manufacturing company based in East, Lancashire. This professional role is an exciting opportunity for an established Manager with a strong background in mechanical / electrical software and product development.
Essential criteria:
1st or 2nd class engineering degree, or equivalent, in electronic software / software systems engineering.
Experience of Project Management of high value service
Demonstrable experience operating within a Quality Assured environment
Excellent leadership and management skills within an engineering environment
Understanding of software development
Producing Technical documentation for publication
Strong understanding of department financial management.
The successful candidate will be fully responsible for the Technical department comprising of design, build, mechanical and electrical software development, along with overall product management.
Key responsibilities
Ensure that equipment is delivered on time and to budget.
Coordinate people and resources to achieve design and production deadlines including procurement of materials and sub contracted services.
Delivery of engineering budgets and reporting against established KPI's.
Take responsibility for project management of engineering projects as required.
Provide expert in house advice on engineering matters.
Managing cross-functional teams.
Risk management - assessment of innovations and proposed technical changes of other organisations
Business development planning.
Implementation of technical and business processes.
People Management - motivating teams, appraisals, training and personal development plans.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft operating systems.
Full UK driving license
