KR2 GBP7.70-GBP7.91 per hour (Full time equivalent GBP14,856 - GBP15,252)

Elms School are taking on the transportation of pupils from home to school starting in September with further routes following after the October half term and again in January.

We currently require escorts for runs starting at the end of October and January and further relief escorts to cover sickness straight away.

Escorts will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils during their journey. The successful candidates:

  • Must be able to establish a rapport with pupils and parents
  • emotionally resilient
  • Possess a good sense of humour, be patient and remain calm in difficult circumstances.
  • A minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of escorting children with complex behavioural, social, emotional and mental health difficulties would be an advantage

Information about the school

Elms School is a special day school for children with social, emotional and learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have ASD, ADHD or other difficulties such as attachment difficulties. The school has a mixed roll of 110 students between the ages of 5 and 16.

The school has been assessed as Outstanding following the last three consecutive Ofsted inspections. The most recent inspection report was published in May 2014. At Elms we combine academic success with a therapeutic, nurturing approach in order to best support the learning and emotional needs of our pupils.
