Site Engineer - Civils/Rail

Purpose of Role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our established team in Moreton Valence, the Western Renewals Framework delivers a variety of civils discipline design and build projects to ensure the operational capability of the railway and key assets across a primary area of responsibility extending from Worcestershire to Bristol and West London. The work types include embankment and cutting stabilisation, drainage network improvements, and structure refurbishment through to renewal. With Projects typically varying in value from approx. GBP300k to approx. GBP3000k.

The role will see you writing and developing Work Package Plans, Safe Systems of Work and undertaking setting out duties as and when required, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Demonstrable experience of managing Civil Engineering works in a Rail Environment is preferable.

- To undertake setting out and the management of setting out
- To write and develop WPP & SSOW Plans
- To control the works of the labour teams and to issue works to Foreman, gangs and subcontractors in a structured and organised manner
- To ensure that all site works are conducted in a safe manner and to the correct quality standards
- To champion the Carillion Values
- To produce documentation on work performance
- To deal with site problems to ensure that the project remains on plan
- To at all times be aware of the value / cost of the materials they are using and to adopt a sustainable approach
- To manage subcontractor performance
