Are you the committed and motivational SENCo needed from September 2017? Due to a maternity leave, we need a SENCo for 2 days a week until the May half term. You will have the SENCo accreditation, be able to manage your own workload and show initiative in leading our friendly teaching staff. Children are at the heart of all our decisions and we will look to the SENCo to ensure that the needs of our most vulnerable children are consistently met.

The successful applicant will have high expectations, will be supportive of our Catholic ethos and be a strong team player, keen to make a difference for children. You will understand the needs of children who are actively engaged in their own learning and you will organise your practice to meet those needs. You will need to be a hard working individual, who is extremely well organised and flexible.

St.Teresa's is a popular, well-resourced and over-subscribed school on the edge of Ashford with excellent teaching facilities, motivated children and a very supportive fully committed, friendly team of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff. We are committed to self- improvement and therefore commit considerable time and resources to developing our staff, both with in-school support and tailored professional development. A willingness to contribute to the continued improvement of our school and to take part in its' wider life is very important. In return we will offer a happy and highly supportive team.

St. Teresa's has been consistently judged good by OFSTED, including in the most recent inspection (Oct 2013) Please visit our website and view our latest Ofsted report.

Information about the school

St.Teresas Catholic Primary School is a single form entry school set in Ashford. We are a good school set in beautiful tree-rich grounds. We are part of a thriving community and work as part of the Parish with the support of our parents. We place the children at the heart of every decision, including involving them in all recruitment processes. We became part of the Kent Catholic Schools Partnership from May 1st and are looking forward to working with our academy partners, while retaining our current collaborations with 11 other local schools in order to share best practice for the benefit of staff and to enrich the lives of the children. The school is popular with parents and operates a waiting list in all classes.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
