Production Manager

The Company:          

Permoid Industries Ltd, based on the Newton Aycliffe Industrial Estate, specialising in medium to high volume fabrication and metal pressing work, with a workforce of circa 200 employees.  The company has been established in excess of sixty years with the current management owning the company since 1985.

The position:

The Production Manager will be reporting to the General Manager and is responsible for all aspects of production from planning, through to manufacture and dispatch.  Managing a support staff of seven teamleaders and shift supervisors, to organise and control one hundred and forty shopfloor operatives working over a range of shift patterns. It is the Production Manager's responsibility to ensure that the customer delivery schedules are met on time and within the company’s budgets.  You will be responsible for organising and dealing with your own weekly production meetings as well as contract review meetings for new work/contracts awarded to the company.

The ideal applicant:

Will possess the relevant skills and experience in the following disciplines:

• Engineering background in metal fabrication and sheet metal work.
• The ability to liaise with customers
• Developing production plans to satisfy Customer orders.
• Overseeing production and developing recovery plans as appropriate.
• Manage performance levels to achieve output, quality and cost targets
• Manage all aspects of personnel:-
  • Recruitment
  • Development
  • Training
  • Discipline

• Applicant must be a team player, problem solver and able to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
• Good man management skills are essential
• H&S Knowledge
• Good problem solving skills, flexible and resourceful
• Computer literate, with a good knowledge of Excel.
