We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At Pitney Bowes we are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our Global Accounting Operation team based in Hatfield. You will receive a competitive salary plus excellent benefits. This role is a 6 month fixed term contract, however there is potential for this to become permanent.

About the Payroll Specialist role:

You will be responsible for ensuring all key payroll processes are administered in line with recommendations and key controls are implemented to minimise any liability for Pitney Bowes Ltd and its other UK and ROI entities.

You will assist in the administration of the Payroll, reconciliation processes and related software system(s), primarily SAP. Maintaining and monitoring relevant records, producing standard letters, reports and related correspondence and checking outputs for validity will also be a key part of the role.

As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for:

- All SAP payroll processing of reports and extract and interfacing routines

- Provide support in the reconciliation of Payroll GL accounts

- Understanding of PAYE and other statutory payments including the HMRC Real Time Information process, Salary Sacrifice Schemes

- Provide 3rd party payments, such as assistance in the completion and submission of all Courts and Unions payments

- Provide assistance with the maintenance of DTPs, and work instructions

- Maintain an awareness of developments and changes in any/all legislation impacting payroll, and to operate within payroll industry accepted best practice standards at all times

- To participate and contribute to any Payroll Audit processes

- Support for identification and management of issues affecting SOX compliance

- Support End of Year activities, including P11ds, PSA, P60s and P35 returns as directed by the Payroll Manager

This role will also involve supporting the provision of a professional Internal Disbursements Service whilst providing relevant administrative support to colleagues in the workplace, its customers and clients.

This may include;

- Attendance at meetings – taking notes or minutes, drawing up action sheets etc

- Provision of word processing support for reports/relevant correspondence – as required

- Filing/file searches – as required

- Receiving telephone calls, taking appropriate action until resolution

- Sorting/referencing incoming mail, both soft and hard formats

- Support with Key payroll metrics and cash flow data for the company

What we’re looking for in our Payroll Specialist;

- Experience in payroll or account reconciliation

- Experience with Irish payroll would be an advantage

- Previous use of SAP would be an advantage

- Understanding of PAYE and other statutory payments including Real Time Information (RTI), P11ds, PSA returns

- Knowledge of Pensions Auto Enrolment (PAE) process

- Systems experience, particularly SAP; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

- Analytical skills; attention to detail and understanding the bigger picture.

- Payroll Qualification is desirable but not essential
