Job Title: Head / Executive Chef

Location: Newark-on-Trent

Salary: £25k - £35k depending on experience

Our client is a charity and they are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and appropriately qualified Head / Executive Chef to run their busy multi-event catering facilities. They provide an event-based commercial catering operation supporting a wide variety of events, which include conferences, meetings, hospitality, dinner dances, weddings, exhibitions, multi-day events, and produce food ranging from café-style to silver service. Events catered for can be anywhere from 10 to 750 covers delivered through our client's main function kitchens and five satellite catering facilities within the site. The successful applicant will work with the catering and event support team in facilitating over 500 events per year.

Whilst open 365 days a year, there are seldom any events requiring catering over the Christmas period.

Job Role

Working to the Operations Manager, the Head Chef will be directly responsible for all areas of running the kitchen / catering, including management of a small team, menu creation and development, sourcing, pricing, cost control, H&S and regulatory compliance.

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in a commercial catering environment with a skill for working on different and frequently changing functions, often simultaneously. You will have the creativity, and passion to move a multi-faceted business forward through development and initiative as well as quality, a genuine desire to provide value for money and enhancing the visitor / customer experience.
