Job Title: 3.5 Tonne Parcel Delivery & Collection Van Driver
Location: Aldershot, Hampshire
Pay- From GBP10.50 per hour for the month of December. PAY RISE AFTER 13 WEEKS SERVICE TO AROUND GBP10.95 AN HOUR!
Ideally you will have worked for a large national UK based parcel distribution company as you are required to deliver a minimum of 70 parcels per day
Please note that to complete essential paperwork for this position, you will be required to make a one time trip to our offices in Southampton or Leatherhead
3.5 Tonne Multi Drop Van Driver required for an ongoing contract for a Parcel Delivery company near Aldershot, Hampshire. If possible, we would be looking for people applying to consider work in other depot's close by such as Basingstoke or Reading
This position is expected to start in the summer and in the future could lead to more solid work, possibly into a permanent role. We have several people who have currently worked there for 6+ months, and we have an excellent track record with this client taking on our staff on a temp-perm basis.
Although this is ad hoc work, as and when required, the best drivers will be provided with work every day. We also have several other local depots in which we could offer you work at an alternative location
Typical hours could fall between 7am-7pm Monday- Friday with overtime payable after 8 hours each day and on weekends (optional Saturdays)
The role is to collect and deliver parcels to residential homes and businesses across the South Central region in a LWB Sprinter type van, while proving tracking information. This is fast paced work and requires route planning, so good knowledge of the local area is essential
Applicants must be able to safely lift parcels up to 30kg, and be able to deliver a minimum of 70 drops per day within their defined postcode area
Anyone applying should have previously worked as a Multi Drop Delivery Driver (ideally parcel delivery), be well presented, and have a personable nature. Due to elements of customer service and completion of vital paperwork, candidates are required to have a good grasp of the English language both written and spoken.
Applications cannot be accepted from anyone who has an unspent criminal record for fraud, violence, sexual offences or theft.Due to the nature of the role, the company requires an in depth security clearance check and 5 years of residency.
