Job Title: 3.5 Tonne Parcel Delivery & Collection Van Driver
Location: Basingstoke
Pay- From GBP9.00 per hour ( Up to GBP11.50 for overtime/ weekend work. pay increases with service, up to around GBP11- GBP13 per hour after 3 months employment)
Ideally you will have previously worked for a Large UK Parcel Distribution Company
Please note that to complete essential paperwork for this position, you will be required to make a one time trip to our offices in Southampton
We are expecting this position to start within 2 weeks and good Drivers will be retained for work throughout the rest of the year. The best Drivers get 50+ hours every week and are likely to be offered permanent positions when they become available
3.5 Tonne Multi Drop Van Driver required for an ongoing contract for a Parcel Delivery company near Basingstoke, Hampshire
Typical hours could fall between 7am-7pm Monday- Friday with overtime payable after 8 hours each day. The company have now started undertaking deliveries on weekends too. Although we do not expect you to work 7 days per week, you will be expected to work occasional weekends in line with the needs of the business
The role is to collect and deliver parcels to residential homes and businesses across the South Central region in a LWB Sprinter type van, while proving tracking information. This is fast paced work and requires route planning, so good knowledge of the local area is essential
Applicants must be able to safely lift parcels up to 30kg, and be able to deliver a minimum of 50 drops per day within their defined postcode area
Anyone applying should have previously worked as a Multi Drop Delivery Driver (ideally parcel delivery), be well presented, and have a personable nature. Due to elements of customer service and completion of vital paperwork, candidates are required to have a good grasp of the English language both written and spoken.
Applications cannot be accepted from anyone who has an unspent criminal record for fraud, violence, sexual offences or theft. Due to the nature of the role, the company requires an in depth security clearance check and 5 years of residency. Anyone who can not provide this information will automatically be rejected. The vetting time came be up to 2 weeks but is often quicker
