Are you an experienced Control & Instrumentation Technician looking for an exciting new role where you will support the whole site on a continuous shift system and work under your own initiative?

With over 60 years in the industry, my client is a well-established chemical manufacturer who pride themselves on quality, innovation and exceptional technical support and are looking for an experienced C&I Technician to join their team at the site in Bradford.
The ideal candidate will provide control and instrumentation maintenance support to the whole site on a full continuous 5-shift system basis.
The main duties and accountabilities will include;
- Respond to Control and Instrumentation breakdown maintenance requests, fault find, diagnose and effect repairs in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Ensure all appropriate policies, procedures and related requirements such as Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times.
- Maintain the 'Mainsaver/Oracle' database in light of breakdowns and inspections
- Ensure a detailed log is maintained at all times using the site Lotus notes system
- Undertake inspections and calibrations to verify or certify the integrity of systems and items in line with established policies and procedures to do with safety, insurance or quality criticality
- Assist in the identification and resolution of improvement opportunities undertaking the installation and commissioning of items as necessary
Outside of hours of normal supervision, work closely with the Production Shift Manager who will advise on production priorities
The Candidate:
- Have a HNC or higher in relevant Instrument discipline and ideally full trade apprenticeship
- Industrial experience within a chemical manufacturing environment
- Possess the ability to work safely on the sites computer based instrumentation systems (especially the critical DCS) and have a good diagnostic capability for the DCS systems
- On-going motivation to keep up to date with computer based instrumentation systems, with minimal formal training
- Be well organised and be able to work well under pressure
This role works a 12 hour continuous shift pattern working 2 days, 2 nights and 4 days off, this pattern repeats 7 times after which there is a further 14 day extended rostered break.
