The Primary PGCE programme is broken into three distinct phases:

• Year 1, terms 1 and 2 - Scholar Phase - Work in a support role such as a Teaching Assistant
• Year 1, term 3 - Advanced Scholar Phase - Move to a 50% timetable to ease into teaching
• Year 2 - PGCE Phase - Teaching a 80% timetable.

Training and support includes:

• Residential training fully paid for during your half terms
• Link Tutor from the University of Buckingham
• Three assignments (2,500 - 3,000 words each)
• School Mentor
• Online Programme
• Tuition and Practice tests for the skills tests

To be eligible for the Primary PGCE course, you will be required to have the following:

• University degree of a 2:2 or above
• GCSE 'C' grade or above in Maths, English, Science
• Ability to demonstrate why you want to be a teacher!
