The Position
Retallack Resort is currently recruiting a Bar Manger/Supervisor to come and join the team. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Management team, the Bar Manager/Supervisor will take full control of the bars provision both in The Lookout Restaurant and The Lookout Lounge areas of the resort. The successful candidate will be charismatic and confident in their abilities with a head for figures, taking full ownership of stock management and menu creation.
Responsibilities
- To ensure guests are provided with a welcoming and professional service and that there is a prompt resolution to any complaints
- To maintain a proactive approach to day today duties such as stock rotation, cellar maintenance, organisation of paperwork and upkeep of all bar areas
- To support and initiate beverage pricing structures to achieve the desired beverage GP
- To liaise and create relationships with product suppliers
- To implement marketing ideas to promote beverage offerings in all areas of the resort
- To have overall responsibility for the stock control on all resort bars ensuring that budgeted margins are delivered on a monthly basis, and wastage minimized
- To support the F&B Management team in the planning and coordinating of rotas
- To cover for the F&B Management in their absence
- To motivate and manage the bar and restaurant staff
- To work with the senior management planning major events including implementing out of season events to maximize off season resort income
The Person
- Previous supervisory/managerial experience within the hospitality industry (bars) is essential
- Exceptional communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work completely on your own initiative as well as part of the management team
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of staff
- Strong sense of responsibility, security and personal presentation
- Excellent problem solving and multitasking skills with the ability to stay calm in a pressured environment
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritize business demands
- Previous specialised beverage experience would be highly advantageous
