Analytics Manager - Trading Decisions - Premier Inn Hotels

What you will be doing:-
As our Trading Decisions Analytics Manager you will be responsible for developing and optimising the structure and commercial logic of Premier Inn's dynamic pricing system (Automated Trading Engine - ATE) to enable the trading team to optimise revenue performance

Your Accountabilities:-

  • You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities to optimise our existing pricing model logic, and our parameter setup. Being able to strategically leverage data mining and statistical techniques
  • You will be able to drive thinking on potential decision automation/optimisation techniques that could provide a step-change in performance via thorough external reviews and horizon scanning
  • Define and build prototypes to test effectiveness of new pricing logic, and support the translation of this logic into requirements for development within ATE
  • Enhance decision automation processes using feedback loops
  • In this role you will have direct line management of 3 Analysts and be responsible for their ongoing professional and personal development
  • You will have significant influence over pricing effectiveness across GBP1.4bn of revenue through the development of our commercial logic
  • Expected to use iterative test & learn processes and statistical techniques to develop business case for change, and to develop new prototypes
  • In general this role will work within confines of a prioritised development backlog (c.1-2yr outlook), but is responsible for continually challenging current prioritisation, and addition of new backlog items

Why we would love you to apply?

  • You have proven commercial experience in developing & optimising forecasting or pricing models in a trading environment
  • You hold a relevant degree qualification of 2:1 or above that supports your analytical capability (ie: suitably transferable discipline in Science/Maths/Engineering/Business etc)
  • Proven experience in advanced data extraction and statistical techniques (including SQL, R, SAS, regression modelling, CART)
  • You are confident to synthesise significant volumes of data and information into strategic insight
  • You are comfortable working in a highly analytical role with significant cross-functional collaboration
  • Ideally you have experience of systems development - requirements setting, User Testing
  • You have line management experience of a small team, including personal development and setting objectives
  • Additionally some experience of feedback loops to drive decision automation would be advantageous.
