You’ll have the chance to influence the future of the business and weigh in on important decisions regarding financial strategy, investment, growth and optimisation. 

The Role: 

As the Financial Controller, you’ll ensure the financial health and profitability of the business through the proactive management of sales forecasting, budgets and gross profitability. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Ensure that payroll, billing, ledger and cash management activities are seamlessly managed and run on time 
- Work with department owners to increase their understanding and management of gross profitability, budgeting and staff time utilisation productivity 
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the company 
- Create reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts and make recommendations 
- Oversee tax, regulatory and compliance related issues 
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost 
- Provide quarterly presentations of department gross profitability, YOY company performance and key trends 

About You: 

To be considered, you’ll need: 

- Accounting experience, gained within a time-based service environment, such as a marketing agency, legal firm or accountancy practice 
- Previous experience of working with cloud-based IT software that streamlines and helps to automate the accounting and reporting functionality 
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

Ideally, you’ll be ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW qualified. Experience of time tracking systems, such as Synergist, would also be beneficial, as would experience of working in a management team within a fast-paced tech or IT-driven environment.
