Adept Resourcing Engineering and Technical Division are working with our established client to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
The Job:
- To provide electrical and mechanical engineering support across the site in order to maximise plant efficiency and minimise downtime.
- To create and develop energy savings ideas which will limit the amount of money spent on energy/electricity and monitor the usage of water and energy.
- To respond to plant problems and emergency breakdown situations and undertake specific engineering tasks, including verbal/written instructions and from engineering plans as required.
- To assist with the machine programming (PLC) and any modifications required such as Human Machine Interface (HMI), Inverters and Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
- To receive/issue Permits to Work and ensure engineering work is carried out to internal/external Health, Safety, Environmental and Engineering standards.
- To report any performed engineering work against plans, and update relevant systems.
- To understand and apply Standard Maintenance/Operating Procedure, Method Statements and Engineering Standards as appropriate.
- To assist with the training/coaching of team members/colleagues/apprentices when applicable.
- To give ongoing support to Production through any issues with the process by investigating and improving existing machinery where appropriate.
- Take ownership of personal development, to successfully develop own capabilities, knowledge and personal development.
- To monitor and assist with any repeat concerns and support the Company with resolving these issues.
The Candidate:
- GCSE, NVQ 1 or 2 or City and Guilds
- Manufacturing background and Experience in the automotive industry would be beneficial
- Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings
- Ability to use electrical test equipment
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding with a laptop
- Ability to read, modify and write PLC programs
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Technique Kaizen
- Ability to problem solve and resolve process issues efficiently and effectively
Remuneration:
- GBP27,000 per year plus 35% shift allowance (GBP36,700 per year)
- Continental shifts (shift pattern to be discussed at interview stage)
