Job Title: Fast Forward Lecturers
Contract: 0.5 Fractional and Part-time, hourly paid, fixed term until 8th July 2018
Hours: Various hours per week to be agreed with successful candidates
Salary: GBP16.96 - GBP31.51 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
Location: Various sites across Cardiff and the Vale

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Fast Forward Lecturers at Cardiff and Vale College.

The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching on the Fast Forward re-engagement programme at various sites across Cardiff and the Vale. He/she will undertake all organisational and administrative work associated with the role such as preparation and marking and will provide appropriate student support in order to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners, to enable them to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant must hold a youth work qualification or equivalent(?) along with a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards attaining this.) and have GCSEs in Maths and English. Previous experience of managing a pastoral system and working with NEETs or at-risk students is essential. The ability to use own initiative, make decisions in pressured situations is also an essential requirement of the role. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and dedicated individual, with an understanding of young people who may be vulnerable and/or facing challenges. Experience of teaching at entry level programmes within a college environment is also highly desirable.
