Our client is a world renowned aerospace organisation with an enviable reputation in the development of innovative highest technology solutions to the aerospace sector. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a talented and experienced Metallic Materials Engineer to complement their established and professional team working on a range of state-of-the-art technology projects.

Based in the South West of England (with a full relocation package available), the successful candidate will support the Laboratory in analysing incoming materials queries relating to the Technology Laboratory's business and operational support activities.

As an onsite Metallic Materials Engineer, you will provide technical support to the UK MoD, usually in line with contractual obligations but also in their capacity as technical authority for aircraft, via a variety of routes including the project office, the chief engineer or in some cases directs from MoD subject matter experts such as NAS1710, in a role that was created to provide a rapid response in terms of materials and special processing issues to a variety of customers in accordance with the Company and contractual requirements.

In addition, you will also be required to provide direct technical support to the various design areas in the UK, which will include design reviews, document signatures and vital parts activities as well as providing technical support to the onsite manufacturing facilities and to the company supplier base.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will hold a degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or Materials Engineering and demonstrate a high degree of technical competence along with significant relevant experience, preferably gained within an aerospace materials environment.

You will demonstrate relevant knowledge of the product and the MoD environment (as defined under MAA rules) and will be a self-motivated, customer focused individual comfortable in operating on your own initiative. A high standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential at all levels, together with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

In return, an exception remuneration and benefits package are available including a relocation package if required. Please note that applications will only be accepted if you are eligible to live and work in the UK, and the successful candidate will be required to hold or attain full UK MoD Security Clearance.
