Utilising the resources of more than three hundred directly employed staff, supported by numerous external contractors, the Estates & Facilities Services Directorate is responsible for delivering a full estates and facilities management service to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping.

Main focus of the role:

The Multi-skilled Tradesperson (Electrician) will carry out a range of electrical services work throughout the University estate mostly on maintenance work, but also on refurbishment, minor works or new build if requested.

They will also perform a wide range of work with other Tradespeople and have some understanding of the relationship of other Tradesperson's' work to own, and be committed to learn other skills and competences demonstrated by obtaining or having possession of a NVQ Level 2 in a related discipline.

The role holder will be expected to work within a shift system (rotating weekly), within a current shift pattern of 08.00 – 16.00 and 10.00 – 18.00.

As this is a support service, it must be provided in a professional and friendly manner, using discretion, tact diplomacy and attention to detail.
