Technical Sales Representative
Home based/Field based (must be able to work one day per week in Andover)
Salary: GBP3035k plus company car

The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our sales team as a Technical Sales Representative to develop, maintain and understand the key staff of PLP clients within the UK transmission and distribution sector to support existing activities and in addition establish and exploit business development opportunities. The Technical Sales Representative will manage the open project list and report on updates.
Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, you will work to a planned itinerary and visit clients sites, from Head Office to the project sites, incorporating one day per week in the PLP GB Andover office.
The Company is looking for someone with a technical background who is naturally comfortable with face to face customer meetings and is also comfortable spending a lot of time alone on the road.
The Candidate:
Qualifications
Ideally with HNC and business qualification.
Experience
Previous sales/account management preferred.
Sound commercial understanding.
Understanding and experience of costing process
Knowledge & Skills
A technical/engineering background and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
The ability to follow procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
Communication skills.
Project management skills.
Planning & coordination skills.
Negotiation skills.
Presentation skills.
The ability to demonstrate practically at Board and field level.
Understand technical (mechanical) specifications and drawings.
IT literate.
Personal
To be able to work alone and work as part of a team.
Entertain employees from other PLP sister companies when in the UK.
Actively participate in CI events.
Travel in the UK and overseas, potentially outside of core hours. (Overtime is not paid for travel and may include weekends).
Drive on business in the UK.
Sociable but willing to be on the road alone a lot.
Clean driving licence.
The Package:
