Background
The University's Faculty of Education is one of the largest providers in this country of courses for intending and qualified teachers. The Faculty comprises 2 schools: the School of Teacher Education and Development, and the School of Childhood and Education Science. The posts being recruited are based in the School of Teacher Education and Development.
The Role
We are recruiting a Senior Lecturer(s) in Secondary Mathematics (1.2FTE)) who will contribute to work on the Teach First two year Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Leadership in Learning) and on PGCE programmes.
The Person
As a highly committed and inspiring teacher or teacher educator who seeks to have a transformational impact on pupils learning, you will be contributing to the Department's work in initial teacher education through supporting trainee teacher's progression and engaging in academic research. Your responsibilities will include: supporting trainee teachers and school-based mentors across the South East, South Coast, and East of England, teaching subject studies, professional studies, and related pedagogy across the training to masters level, making a significant contribution to the annual Teach First Summer Institute based in one of the three areas and in Leeds, and engaging in academic research related to initial teacher education.
