Siemens Rail Systems are recruiting a Cost Accountant for a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave. You will be responsible for management of central cost centres in the service and project departments including preparation of monthly management reporting and management of project team recharges. This role is based in Northampton and will report to the Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordination of both monthly forecasting and annual budgeting & BTA process for central cost centres.
- Co-ordination of internal controls process & management of NCC's for central cost centres. Support the service team on new opportunities where service support is required. Support other initiatives / cross project business cases as required
- Financial Reporting and accounting - co-ordination of month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes including journals, recharges. Governance work inclusive of workflow, GRIR
- Financial Controlling - review of balance sheet & income statement for central cost centres, cost controlling and approval of expenditure for central cost centres, production of monthly management reporting
- Support on Inventory reconciliations and Inventory reporting
- Internal control related activities
- Performance of internal audit requirements as required
What do I need to qualify for this role?
- Part qualified and working towards CIMA or ACCA
- Demonstrate relevant accounting & financial experience.
- Solid accounting skills with ability to demonstrate an understanding and interpretation of key financial statements.
- Good working knowledge of SAP is desirable
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-disciplined with strong time management ability and good attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Extremely well organized with ability to prioritise.
- Willingness to learn and develop.
