Technical Sales Executive/Engineer
Cambridge
GBP30,000 - GBP40,000 per annum (dependant on experience) + excellent commission structure
Due to continued success and growth a leading manufacturer on the outskirts of Cambridge are looking for a Technical Sales Executive/Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be joining a successful team who predominantly cover Europe and the USA. Reporting to the Sales Manager your primary objective will be to own and manage new and existing customers from initial enquiry onwards to maximise sales revenue.
Due to the nature of the products and customers the successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and the USA (50% office based, 50% travel). Leads will be generated by a mixture of conferences, exhibitions and the company website, therefore no "cold calling".
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Executive/Engineer to join an expanding company who can offer career progression and extensive travel opportunities. Full training will be giving on company products but a background in technical sales of capital equipment/high value, low volume equipment is essential (although technical candidates with little experience in sales may be considered).

Responsibilities:
- Follow up pre-validated leads within 24 hours of receipt
- Visit potential customer in Europe and the USA to discuss products
- Ensure potential customer receives all necessary technical information and quotations in a timely manner
- Ensure new customers receive all appropriate training and technical support
- Own and maintain specific customer accounts and have a close relationship with those customers. Act as a first point of contact for specific customers.
- Continue communication (telephone and visits) with existing customers to ensure the company maintains position as preferred supplier
- Ensure that existing customers are providing regular requirements forecasts.
- Provide reports on specific customers as requested
- Attend appropriate trade shows as required
- Experienced Technical Sales Executive/Engineer
- Proven track record of developing relationships with new and existing clients
- Understanding of capital equipment/high value, low volume equipment (not small components sales)
- An engineering background would be beneficial although not essential
