Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary circa £45,000 p.a.

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of LIPA Learning’s four buildings, encompassing a Higher Education Institution, a Sixth Form College and a Primary School.  The role will include oversight of all relevant estates-related services and equipment, including the formulation of a strategic approach for the Estates Department, working alongside LIPA’s Directorate.  The role will also include project managing minor capital projects.  As well as managing a small team, you will also be responsible for oversight of site security and cleaning as well as developing and maintaining appropriate and accurate records relating to the usage of the buildings.

You will have extensive experience of this kind of work together with a relevant professional qualification.  Your experience/knowledge will include all aspects of strategic and operational facilities management; including heating systems, boilers, air conditioning/handling systems and electrical systems.  As a manager in a small, specialist institution, you will have an analytical approach but also be prepared to have a hands-on approach to solving problems where necessary.  You must also be able to deal authoritatively with contractors and suppliers and have a clear understanding of the concepts of risk and value for money.

You will have a thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice as well as good communication skills (in particular verbal and e-mail).  You will be ICT literate, able to assimilate and present relatively complex data and have experience of budget planning and project management.
