Profile
Our client is a global defence and aerospace contractor who supply sophisticated technological solutions worldwide. Over the last decade they have grown both organically and via acquisition and look to increase their procurement team to accommodate future expansion plans.

Duties
-To manage the day-to-day requirements and controls of the Purchasing Module on the ERP system.
-To ensure the timely procurement of the best value details for production and engineering requirements.
-Expedite Purchase Orders as necessary.
-Carry out site visits to suppliers as necessary.
-To manage on time delivery from the supply base.
-Become involved in the implementation of lean manufacturing, principles within the purchasing department and help to promote them to the supplier base.
-To encourage communication between the supplier and engineering to effect cost reduction of mature and new products.
-Identify or initiate any cost reduction opportunities.
-To attend production meetings and report on delivery progress and highlight problem areas.
-Liaise with Planning/ Cell Leader to formulate make or buy decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

-Good communication skills.
-CIPS qualified or working towards.
-Experience of using ERP System.
-Literate in Microsoft suite.
-Experienced at working with a cross functional team.
-Full driving license.
