The Company:
Noble Foods is a leading supplier of fresh eggs to major retailers across the nation. Since the 1920s, we’ve been finding new ways to add value, innovate and provide our customers and consumers with more choice.
The Poultry Division is the largest end-of-lay Hen processing operator in the UK, processing to meet the very highest welfare standards required by our customers and the RSPCA. The site is Freedom foods approved and BRC AA grade.

The Role:
As the Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee all engineering and maintenance activities at our site in Gainsborough.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will:
- Manage a Maintenance Controller, Engineering Administrator and nine Engineers, working across three shifts
- Motivate and guide your team to perform to the best of their ability
- Ensure the plant and equipment are maintained in a timely and efficient manner
- Establish priorities and direct engineering activities on-site, including any external contractors
- Make sure that production breakdowns are responded to quickly
About You:
To join this determined team, you will need:
- Experience of managing an engineering department in a complex and fast-moving environment
- A track record of devising, developing and implementing engineering systems and procedures
- Experience of managing an engineering budget, as well as controlling and reducing costs
- A track record of using PPM computer systems
- Experience of project management
- Previous experience of identifying opportunities for improvements and implementing continuous improvement measures
- Experience of asset care, plant criticality and essential spares systems and controls
- A full, valid driving licence
Experience of live animal and meat processing would be beneficial, as would experience of plant criticality and asset care systems and processes. Any of the following would also be an advantage: an engineering degree, a Food Hygiene and HACCP qualification or NEBOSH certificate in Health & Safety.
We’re keen to hear from candidates with experience as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Operations Manager, Production Manager, Maintenance Manager or Senior Engineer.
