Who we're looking for

The PwC South East Practice is currently looking to recruit several experienced Audit Senior Associates to complement our already existing team as we enter a growth period. We are recruiting across Cambridge, Southampton, St Albans, Uxbridge, Norwich, Reading and Gatwick.

PwC delivers across an extensive range of professional services to the local market. With a mix of recent University graduates through to a highly experienced, long serving senior team, and with a high international diversity of staff, the office creates a fantastic and collaborative working environment.

You'll have the opportunity to work across our large and exciting client base of businesses that include large multinational listed and internationally headquartered; entrepreneurial and family owned; early stage and fast growth across technology, life sciences and cleantech; and world leading public, educational and not for profit organisations. With a varied portfolio, you'll be able to gain experience and insight across these, as well as attend our local client events ranging from formal and technical seminars and dinners through to more relaxed, social networking.

Outside of our client work, the office has a great community and social programme. We pride ourselves on our community affairs activities which over the recent years have included various fundraising days and volunteering support for local charities. All our staff are actively encouraged to participate and are given the time to do so. We also provide numerous social events for staff including monthly drinks and nights out which helps to further bring the team together.

Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Senior Associate you will be required to do the below and you must therefore have this experience, gained in previous roles:

  • Provide audit and business advice to a variety of clients
  • Provide an on-site co-ordination role for audit clients including planning, day to day control of the audit team, liaising with clients and completing audit assignments
  • Work and liaise with other members of the audit team and colleagues in other parts of the firm as necessary to provide high quality clients service
  • Reporting directly to a partner, director, senior manager or manager

Some assignments may require travel and staying away from home.

Essential Skills:

  • ACA or ACCA or equivalent CA qualification.
  • Recent experience in IFRS, US GAAP and/or UK GAAP
  • Experience in working in medium sized audit teams.
  • Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience auditing in the technology or biotech/life sciences would be particularly advantageous.

Assurance

Assurance is a dynamic place to be right now, and the variety of opportunities on offer is unprecedented. It's work that really does matter. It matters for businesses, governments and society at large. Our team provides confidence on the most complex decisions companies have to take and this provides a wealth of opportunities to everyone who joins us and works with us.

The skills we look for in future employees

All our people need to demonstrate the skills and behaviours that support us in delivering our business strategy. This is important to the work we do for our business, and our clients. These skills and behaviours make up our global leadership framework, 'The PwC Professional' and are made up of five core attributes; whole leadership, technical capabilities, business acumen, global acumen and relationships.

Diversity

We work in a changing world which offers great opportunities for people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We seek to attract and employ the best people from the widest talent pool, as well as those who reflect the diverse nature of our society. And we aim to encourage a culture where people can be themselves and be valued for their strengths. Creating value through diversity is what makes us strong as a business and as an organisation with an increasingly agile workforce, we're open to flexible working arrangements where appropriate.
