Our Nursing Home in Newport – Capel Grange - offers the highest standards in accommodation and person-centred care, exemplary direct nursing care and a secure, relaxed and homely environment where our elders and their families feel that their well-being and comfort is of prime importance.

We are looking to recruit a Food Service Assistant to assist the Head Chef in delivering the highest standards of food and service to our 72 Elders, some of whom have specialist dietary requirements.  We recognise the massive role food plays in the lives of residents and strive to ensure that every mealtime is a positive and fulfilling experience.

Specific duties will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of the dining areas prior to the service of meals.
• Setting up and cleaning tables, washing up and serving meals.

You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the elders. You will take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. Your passion for food and customer service should be clear.

This role is for 27 hours per week over 3 days. You will be on a rota pattern working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during week one and Friday, Saturday and Sunday during week two.
