The Role 

As a Senior Food Technologist, you will be tasked with devising and implementing new ingredient formulations and recipes for Thai and Asian flavoured products. 

Specifically, you will work in the area of batters, breadings and seasonings, producing inspired flavour combinations that bring food to life and bring a touch of Asia and Thailand to peoples’ kitchens. 

Your duties will include: 

- Utilising your technical expertise to develop and refine prototypes that meet customer requirements 
- Taking charge of an account and maintaining independent responsibility for it 
- Working with customers and our client’s Sales Team to secure new business and retain and develop existing customers 
- Helping to deliver information and presentations to customers and on a wider commercial basis 
- Conducting customer training for developed products and representing the R&D function during customer visit and plant trials 
- Assisting in the training and development of R&D department staff 
- Supervising the work of junior Technologists and Kitchen Assistants 

About You 

To be considered for this rare opportunity, you will need: 

- Substantial experience of the food industry, especially with Thai and Asian flavoured products, including ingredient supply, food processing techniques and equipment associated with seasonings, batters and breadings 
- Experience with a wide range of Thai flavours and tastes 
- At least five years’ product development experience gained within the food industry, from design and factory development to product delivery stage 
- Experience of working within Asian and UK retail food markets
- Good sensory abilities and experience with a wide range of Thai flavours and tastes
- Fluency in Thai and English 

The ideal Food Technologist will have a BSc degree in food science or culinary arts.
