About the role
The main purpose of this role is to assist in the management and delivery of effective high quality estates services for designated premises across the University by providing robust tactical management of operational services. These include Conferencing, cleaning, waste management, contractor management, Domestic and Portering services. This also includes the staff management to include training and rostering. To assist the Deputy Head of Estates in staff and contractor management and the implementation of University wide policies and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities include leading and managing a team of Facilities Assistants in accordance with Estates and HR policies and procedures, including managing annual leave, sickness, performance, mediation, investigations etc. You will also be required to manage the site budgets up to an agreed amount per site and approving/inputting Purchase Orders. To ensure that monthly site budgets are checked and discussed with the contractors and the Deputy Head of Estates in 1:1 meetings in order to prioritise monitoring and expenditure and effective cost control.
About you (requirements)
For you to be successful in this role you need have a successful background in a customer focused service either Facilities management or Conferencing and Events Management in Higher Education as well as some experience of working in the Private sector. Its also essential that you have strong communication and IT skill, and are comfortable liaising with stakeholders.
