The Trustees of Scotswood Natural Community Garden are looking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated youth worker. Your role will be to support the Youth Manager in planning, delivering and evaluating our youth work programme.

Our youth work programme is attended by local children and young people and provides 3 weekly sessions for young people aged 6 –18, and a weekly inclusive art/music club for children with and without disabilities. We are also licensed to deliver Duke of Edinburgh and currently have bronze and silver groups, experience of delivering D of E is desirable.

The vast majority of the young people who access our services have complex family lives, experience of working within disadvantaged communities is essential. You will share our passion for ensuring that all children and young people have the opportunity to excel and realise their potential.

Ideally you will have a youth work qualification or similar, and a good knowledge of wildlife and conservation.

Scotswood Natural Community Garden is a charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which aims to promote learning about nature, the environment, and sustainable living. The Garden itself is a beautiful and wild site of more than 2 acres where a range of activities for children and adults are run. The Garden's activities include, educational workshops for schools, Forest Schools, volunteering opportunities for adults, weekly youth clubs, and regular community open days.
