Temporary Engineer rate: £7.50 + per hour depending on experience + overtime @ time and a quarter

Permanent Engineer salary: £18k depending on experience + overtime @ time and a quarter

An excellent opportunity has arisen for Data Cabling & AV Installation Engineers to join an IT Solutions Provider. You must live within commutable distance of Leamington Spa and you will have the choice of working Full or Part Time on temporary or permanent contracts.

This would be the perfect opportunity for individuals with relevant experience or transferable skills to gain valuable experience in a fun and interesting role.

The role

You will work alongside one of the Cablers for the Data Cabling, AV (Smart, Promethean, CTouch and Clever Touch) installations and depending on experience may be leading a team of less experienced team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fitting interactive whiteboards and projectors at schools (Promethean/ Smart or similar)
• Fitting large interactive screens such as CleverTouch, CTouch and iBoards
• Data cabling – Cat 5 and Cat 6
• Fibre optic cabling
• Door entry system installations
• CCTV installation

Required Skills/Experience

• Experience in AV and Data and Fibre Cabling would be advantageous but transferable skills would be considered
• Confident in the use of Power and hand tools (Drills, screwdrivers etc) /or DIY skills
• Capable and competent working on ladders and scaffold – Relevant Certificates may be required
• May need to stay away for a night or 2, work early starts and sometimes late finishes – need to be flexible as occasionally the job requires
• Good understanding of MS Office especially Outlook, Word and Excel as there will be a small element of regular paperwork
• Presentable, well-mannered and confident meeting Heads and Teachers at schools
• Applicants need to be physically fit as role involves manual handling

Desirable

• DBS (previously CRB certificate) would be an advantage
• CSCS (Construction Skills Certificate) or ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) would be an advantage
• Valid Driving Licence – Preferable
• Qualified Electrician – would be an advantage

Due to the nature of the role applicants must live within a 25-mile radius of Leamington Spa
