About Ashurst Glasgow and the Role:
The legal services market is undergoing fundamental change. The key drivers of that change are regulation, technology and client expectations. Changes in regulation mean that new entrants are joining the legal services market. Technology advances are increasingly impacting the way in which services are delivered and technology is driving greater efficiency. Clients are also expecting their law firms to deliver more value. The traditional model for delivering legal services is therefore being redefined.
Our clients want us to take responsibility for efficient sourcing of legal services without compromising on quality. We also want to maximise operational efficiency and remain competitive and innovative.
To respond to these challenges, Ashurst established a new office in Glasgow in 2013 to deliver innovative, market-leading legal sourcing solutions consistent with Ashurst's status as a global elite firm. These are innovative, legal roles reflecting the fundamental changes in the provision of legal services and you will have an opportunity to be at the forefront of change and to help to shape the new model. You will provide high quality, highly skilled legal input to colleagues within the Ashurst global network of offices, covering a wide range of transactions and advice for Ashurst's premier client base.
Within the office, the legal team is now over 60 strong, with significant growth plans. The team have an extremely flexible skill-set and have been trained across a number of different areas of work. As such, our ambition is for our legal team in Glasgow to support all our practice groups globally.
The team has already worked alongside 16 separate Ashurst offices internationally on over 1,000 projects for 290 different clients. Our plans are to increase very substantially the amount of legal work which we deliver from our team in Glasgow.
In order to comply with regulatory and client requirements, Ashurst will undertake appropriate vetting of staff. When applicants accept a job offer, Ashurst, alongside a specialist provider, will undertake professional verification and background checks.
