EJ31 - Highways Operative Operative Location: Aylesbury Salary: GBP19,000 - GBP23,000 + Overtime Overview: Our client is currently recruiting for additional construction operatives are required to support their continued growth. The role is based in Aylesbury and the surrounding areas therefore a valid UK driver's license and own vehicle is a requirement. You will carry out highways maintenance as instructed. Work will involve general maintenance on bridge projects so a good level of health and fitness is also a requirement. When trained to do so you may be needed to operate a variety of plant and equipment in order to carry out required duties effectively. There is the possibility of quick career progression following completion of training. The role is based on a 40 hour week and you must be flexible to work mostly on night shifts. If you do not have the desired skills but do have the willingness to learn please still apply. Duties and Responsibilities: * Carry out highways maintenance duties as instructed. Including winter maintenance when appropriate.* Contribute to the promotion of customer care by working closely with team members to ensure client and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.* In absence of Team leader take responsibility for completion of daily worksheets* Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.* Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required. Skills and Qualifications: * Valid UK driving license.* Use of own vehicle.* Good level of health and fitness.* Valid CSCS Card* Experience and knowledge of strict H&S operations and its practical implications.* Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team.
