About the role
Based within the Student Services department, this job share role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Admissions team and providing frontline customer service to actual and potential applicants to the University. The post holder will undertake a range of key administrative functions including the updating and maintenance of applicant records together with managing the busy admissions enquiry inbox and responding to a diverse range of enquiries on the telephone. The post requires the holder to act proactively with correspondence, escalating to others where necessary, and the maintenance of a high level of customer service. The role also assists with the administration of the applicant interview process including mail shots, inputting of data and running any necessary reports. The post holder will also monitor and process applications for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates, needed for a range of courses, and contribute to all major Student Services activities including clearing, registration, assessments and graduation.
About you (requirements)
The post holder must have demonstrable experience working in an administrative role and have highly developed organisational skills. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to plan and prioritise your workload effectively. The post holder will need to be positive, flexible, be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience of Admissions within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage, though not essential. The role is 0.4 FTE and is a job share with someone already in post. Days and hours of work to meet the 0.4 FTE are Thursday (9am - 5pm) and Friday (9am - 4.30pm).
