Purchasing Manager - The Company:
Our client, an innovative, distinctive organisation located within Leicester are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their highly successful and motivated team.
Purchasing Manager - The Opportunity:
You will develop a Global Purchasing strategy to achieve the Business Objectives whilst ensuring that the business is able to purchase all goods and services in the required volumes, at the required lead time and at competitive prices. You will also ensure the security of supply of the materials required for the production of the company's products.
Negotiating acceptable terms of business with all suppliers and to ensure that all such agreements are accurately documented, maintained and communicated. You will monitor market prices and accurately forecast and communicate raw material prices, taking action to mitigate any negative impact.
To monitor supplier performance ensuring that they are able to meet the requirements of the business in terms of service (OTIF & Inventory), quality and commercial terms. You will lead the negotiations for all capital projects.
Purchasing Manager - About you :
- Excellent leader able to demonstrate an open and inclusive senior management style
- Experience of developing, implementing and managing strategic supplier relationships for both commodity and technical products
- MCIPS or working towards MCIPS
- Experience of global sourcing, supplier and inventory management
- Excellent negotiating skills and ability to establish effective supplier agreements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A good knowledge of QA systems and supplier audits
- Understanding of materials used in the manufacture of PSA tapes
- Ability to identify and communicate risk (Service, Quality, Health & Safety and Financial)
- Ability to recommend and implement plans and actions to mitigate risk
- Ability to see the big picture and be decisive
- Excellent organisational skills
- Computer literate and numerate including ability to use MS Office to intermediate stand
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
