The Role: 

As the Transport Team Manager, you will manage the delivery and collection of internal and external customers’ products, ensuring they are made on time and in a cost-effective manner. 

In this key role, you’ll lead, motivate and support the Transport Team and work with the Logistics, Manufacturing and Fleet functions to ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Oversee the daily implementation of the transport plan 
- Work with the Planning Team to ensure that the fleet is utilised effectively 
- Recruit new Drivers and ensure that they are fully trained and legally compliant 
- Manage Driver’s hours, rest periods and any infringements 
- Ensure that H&S legislation is adhered to 
- Manage reporting and management information 

About You: 

To be considered, you’ll need: 

- Experience in a team leadership and/or management role, managing drivers and transport staff 
- Previous experience of working within a transport environment 
- Knowledge of transport legislation 
- A high level of IT literacy, including MS Excel, Word and Outlook 
- To be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure 

Ideally, you’ll be a CPC national holder, but this isn’t essential. Experience of Paragon Routing & Scheduling and Microlise systems would also be beneficial.
