We are recognised as one of the UK's most forward-thinking law firms. Our success is down to excellence in our approach to our clients, our people and our business. We have a confident and coherent strategy that has been rewarded by topping the Roll on Friday 'Firm of the Year' poll for Management, Culture and Openness.

We have a growing international reach, particularly in Europe but also across Asia and the US, and we are the largest member of the Osborne Clarke International organisation. We have a clear strategy for the next five years - our 2020 vision - preparing the firm for a sustainable future.

The role and the opportunity

OC's Solutions team play a crucial role in helping clients explore exactly how they would like legal and related services to be delivered to maximise the value to their businesses. The team is overtly focussed on the client first, and on developing new products and services to deliver existing services better, and to deliver entirely new services to meet growing client needs.

Our Solutions programme has two key goals. First, to make sure we're responding to client demands for greater value, efficiency & certainty from their lawyers, whilst maintaining the highest quality. Secondly in helping us bring innovative ideas to the delivery of our current, and new, services.

By talking to clients, using collaborative technology, and developing legal project management tools, we believe that we can continue to improve the value, efficiency and predictability of our services.

The programme has already delivered solutions to a number of clients, with hundreds of matters now being instructed, run and managed online. The team is now working on many more opportunities to design and implement new delivery and technology tools, and also help clients' own process improvements.

The team also is heavily involved in ensuring that our lawyers have the products and resources needed to provide the best possible service to our clients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Assistant to support the Head of the team in delivering Solutions projects to clients across the business. The team is headed by a partner who is focussed full time on developing and delivering these new products and services. As the demands on the team grow, we have a need for more dedicated, legally experienced, resource to work with the team, other OC lawyers and clients, in producing and managing our growing portfolio of new products, services and solutions.

Location and Hours of Work

Although based in our Bristol office, the role would be likely to involve regular travel between the offices in Reading and London, and occasionally to client locations.

Due to the nature and size of the role, we are ideally looking for someone to join on a full-time basis, but are willing to consider applicants looking to work on a more flexible basis.

Key responsibilities

With the appropriate training and guidance required, your key responsibilities will be:

Assisting the Head of Solutions at each stage of the development of new products and services, and the delivery to clients of new solutions.

Ensuring consistency and appropriate use of processes and programmes used by the team.

Organising alterations and upgrades to systems swiftly where needed.

Assisting in analysing data captured by various solutions.

Ensuring a full suite of records is kept in relation to each live solution to be used by the team for future instances.

Liaising with the Osborne Clarke Legal & Compliance and IT teams as needed in relation to the terms of new products and services, and the evaluation of new products, and on the creation of support processes for the systems that the Solutions team put in place.
