CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER/OPERATIONS MANAGER - Up to GBP35k basic DOE plus bonus

A niche construction/carpentry company based in Woking Surrey are expanding and now require a Construction Project Manager / Operations Manager who will manage the successful delivery of all elements of their projects. Ideally the candidate will suit someone with a proven project/operations management background and general construction knowledge perhaps with a carpentry bias.

The role will include all client, sub-contractor and supplier management so the candidate will need to be an excellent communicator with a 'can do' approach.

In addition to the confirmed project delivery they will also be expected to assist the team with basic project costing as well as various other elements the MD may require assistance with, in order to develop the company.

The role will be rewarding, fun, and challenging. It will require commitment and is not suitable to someone after a 9 to 5 job! There will be training although the candidate will be expected to be able to pick up the reigns and work under his / her own initiative and drive as soon as possible.

The Construction Project Manager/Operations Manager will have many responsibilities and these include the following:

Client Management - After project confirmation from the client the Construction Project Manager/Operations Manager will take over all aspects of the client management from a delivery point of view, to ensure an outstanding finished project with a very happy client.

Planning - From the outset, it is the responsibility of the Construction Project Manager/Operations Manager to plan the build process, this means producing a critical path and understanding the timing of each stage. Following each phase of the project is essential to ensuring that the project is completed on time.

Team Management - The Construction Project Manager /Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the current sub-contract team as well being responsible for recruiting additional teams as required.

Setting Benchmarks - An integral aspect of the on-going monitoring of a project is setting benchmarks to monitor progress, this allows the Construction Project Manager /Operations Manager to identify whether or not the project is on target to finish on time and within budget.

Budget Management - The PM/OM is responsible for the financial planning and monitoring of the project. To avoid going over budget a PM/OM should consider continually forecasting, keeping the MD informed of forecasts and changes and managing the scope meticulously, so knowing the costs for unplanned construction work or resources and keeping that set-aside.

Salary dependent on experience - GBP30k to GBP35k + Bonus + Pension
