About Riverford

We're mad about organic veg. It's at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes and deliver it to customers' doorsteps around the UK. This takes a lot of brilliant people, with a range of skills and knowledge.

Riverford began in 1986, with a few acres of veg, a wheelbarrow and a beaten up 2CV for deliveries. We've grown into a successful e-commerce business, with four farms, three packhouses, a fleet of vans and drivers, a wholesalers, butchery, organic restaurant and pub. We employ people across many areas including IT, Logistics, Sales, HR, Finance and Marketing (and more besides).

Our culture and values set us apart from other businesses. Riverford is a friendly, informal place to work, with a passionate, entrepreneurial spirit. We're committed to providing a fair deal for growers, customers and staff.

What you'll be doing

We want Riverford to be an exceptional place to work and we feel the environment we work in has an important role to play in this. Over the next 18 months. we are undergoing some major site development work to deliver a great working environment for our employees. We need someone to help ensure this is delivered in a way that reflects and really enhances our site for all and tells the story of our brand and values.

This is not about rolling out someone else's ideas, but coming up with creative solutions and taking each area from design to completion.

We are searching for an experienced Interior Designer to conceptualise, design and deliver on brand spaces across our sites. You will be able to see a project through from conception to implementation and be able to work well with and pull together internal resources to deliver these projects.

The areas that are on the plan include:

- New open plan office to house around 200 staff
- New larger staff canteen and eating areas
- Improved meeting room and external meeting spaces
- Other smaller office spaces and associated areas / training rooms
- Development of other staff facilities which may include things like a staff gym
- Production areas branded and brought to life / tell our story etc
- Staff break out areas
- Other sites in time

Your Responsibilities

- Work closely with the project team, from concept to delivery on all areas of design
- Oversee the process, from conceptual design to completion
- Deliver all the finishing touches for the office project (you would usually drive the design but this project is already underway)
- Come up with design ideas, present design visuals to gain buy-in and implement across all areas, working closely with key stakeholders, like the internal marketing team
- Really get under the skin of the business to understand what will work and what won't
- Set up and run project groups where needed to ensure buy-in and right look and feel
- Source materials (which may be internal materials found around the site)
- Work with the people team to run requirement-gathering sessions with staff
- Produce seating, desk and layout plans where needed and manage this process
- Ensure that designs meet with workplace/space planning requirements, building regs etc.

This is a contract, initially for 18 months but with the potential to become permanent. This is a part time role, ideally for 3 days a week. However, we can offer flexibility regarding the hours and days works.

Skills & experience

- Excellent technical skills and the ability to see a project through, from conception to implementation
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop
- Good hand drawing skills
- Project management experience
- Past experience of office fit-outs would be highly desirable
- Ability to manage budgets and projects
- Proven experience in other commercial design projects
- Experience of being part of a broader project team
- Extremely organised, you will love a to-do list and enjoy keeping things moving forward
- Excellent interpersonal skills, skilled at building relationships with people from all areas of the business
- Able to be flexible if required, to support the business need, go the extra mile and get stuck in!

Benefits

Riverford is a beautiful place to work, with lots of great people - and other benefits too. We offer 31 days' holiday (including bank holidays), a generous company pension scheme and an annual profit share. We love food and hope you do too, so we give staff 25% off everything we sell on our website; heavily discounted organic breakfasts and lunches in the staff canteen; and free organic fruit and veg. There are also many social events for staff, with two big parties a year.
