Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Manager will be responsible for the preparation and submission of tax returns for all UK Group entities and all compliance matters for the Group. In addition, the individual will be responsible for the delivery of tax reporting information for investors and executives and providing support to the Head of Tax on a variety of advisory issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordination and management of outsourced compliance providers, key contact for managing these relationships
  • Preparation of some group entities’ tax computations (group companies, limited partnerships etc.) within specific deadlines.
  • Review and sign off of tax returns before final sign off by Head of Tax
  • Working with Finance and Funds administration functions for the preparation of underlying information relevant for tax reporting
  • US, German and UK tax reporting to investors
  • Ensure that all tax returns are filed within specific deadlines (UK, US & German tax returns).
  • Assistance with PAYE and indirect tax issues
  • Preparation of audit tax provisions.
  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence and maintaining a good working relationship with HMRC and the tax authorities
  • Provide information to ensure that all tax payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Provide input to the development of systems and procedures to allow taxation information to be readily available.
  • Provide assistance to the Head of Tax on deal related and ad hoc issues.
  • Keep abreast of all tax developments relevant to the business.

    Requirements / Preferences

  • Qualified accountant / CTA with corporate tax and partnership tax experience gained either through the profession or in a commercial tax department.
  • Private equity experience preferred.
  • Significant experience or proven experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel and Word).
  • Good team worker.
  • Good inter-personal skills in order to develop relationships both internally and within the business.
