As a Family Court Adviser – which is what we call the Social Workers - you will work directly with vulnerable children and families to advise the Family Courts on the best course of action for the child or young person. You will achieve this by providing case analysis and recommendations to the court. You’ll also attend court and be an advocate for the best interests of the child, ensuring their voice is heard.
They are currently recruiting for the team that covers South London. The office is Croydon (CR0 1XG) although staff work flexibly whether this is at court, at home, in the office, or of course, with children and families. They are recruiting for the Private Law team where at the request of the court, they have been asked to get involved where the needs of children need to be considered in a case of divorce or separation.
As you can imagine the work is demanding. So to be considered for such a privileged, responsible role there are a few things we're looking for from you:
Social work qualified
Registered with the HCPC as a Social Worker in England,
Experienced at working with highly vulnerable children and families
An expert in safeguarding, child engagement, inter-agency working, case analysis, planning and recording.
In order for you for you to succeed and truly make a difference you should be someone who is resilient and organised and can work proportionately. You must have strong it skills and be an effective verbal and written communicator.
