Business Development Manager – Smart Lighting – National and International.

 

We have an opportunity looking for a Business Development Manager – Smart Lighting to join us in Sowerby Bridge, on a full time, permanent basis. You will receive a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum depending on experience plus benefits including 25 Days Holiday, Private Medical Cover, Bonus and company Car.

Lucy Zodion is a leader in the design and manufacture of streetlighting equipment in the UK. Our product range spans the on-street installation of lighting from electrical distribution to control. Our leading position has been reached through constant innovation in both our products and service.

As our Business Development Manager – Smart Lighting your primary role will be to increase the deployment of Street Lighting Central Management System schemes to new and existing customers in all territories.

The secondary objective is to be the voice and ears of the company to make sure that our Smart City/Smart Lighting systems and associated product ranges are kept up to date and that new product needs are identified and implemented.

The role will be either office based and will include travelling to all customer areas, including international, to support new product and project implementation.

Responsibilities of our Business Development Manager – Smart Lighting include:

- Ensure the timely and successful implementation of CMS installations to support achievement of the business financial and strategic goals.

- Provide expert technical and commercial support to customers. Including presentations at exhibitions, seminars and industry events as well as initiating the development of suitable marketing material.

- Help create and achieve the Budget including both sales targets as well as the profitability targets.

- Develop and implement the agreed long term strategy for the Smart Lighting system.

- With liaison with the suppliers manage the introductions of new products to the market from design through to manufacture, marketing and sales.

- Promote and sell the LZ Smart City solution to customers in all potential territories, covering anywhere in the world.

- Research, investigate and identify potential new areas for business development and growth in relation to new and existing products and services.

- Provide market and pricing data for the introduction of new products including the management of communications including literature both physical and electronic.

- Manage the life-cycles of product ranges especially product rationalisation.

- Support / underpin meetings and decision making process in relation to territory, customer focus, new or existing products and services.

- Liaise with the commercial team to ensure product costing and pricing are in line with market expectations.

- Participate in regular performance discussions, this will be on-going process throughout each year and not solely confined to an annual appraisal meeting.

- Implement special projects from time to time as requested by your manager.

- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed by your line manager.

- Adherence to all Company Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Safe Working Practices.

To become our Business Development Manager – Smart Lighting you must have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Technical qualification or relevant experience in Electrical Engineering Qualification or experience in commercial/ financial field.

- Engineering Degree in Electrical or mechanical is desirable.

- Able to manage large projects, including implementation in the field.

- Experienced in the lighting/electric industry.

- Ability to work to and achieve set targets.

- IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office.

- Ability to present to customers using appropriate tools including PowerPoint.

- Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels.

- Able to produce management reports and present results at meetings.

- Experience of selling/sales and territory management is desirable.
