Our client is an innovative leading provider and developer of affordable housing and related services in Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, managing around 11,000 properties.

They are currently looking for a Development Officer to assist in the efficient delivery of projects within their growing development programme.

The post holder will assist in monitoring building contracts from inception to completion.  You will ensure that Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and local authority targets are met and will coordinate and brief contractors/consultants to achieve this.

You will be required to identify new initiatives, assessing new sites / buildings for acquisition.  You will undertake feasibility studies and financial appraisals and will prepare development briefs and design guides.  You will also negotiate with developers, vendors and valuers to agree terms.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working in a housing association, local authority or other relevant industry.  You will have some understanding of building construction and will be able to read and interpret plans.

The ability to liaise with staff, tenants and external contacts such as consultants and contractors is essential.  It is also important that you can prepare reports and manage budgets.  Experience providing feasibility studies would be advantageous.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to travel efficiently to their sites.
