Developer

Purpose of the Role:

We expect our developers to be armed with either several years relevant commercial experience delivering highly performant, polished B2C web applications, or on the path to have it.

You should be devoted to SOLID and TDD, and have a thorough understanding of design patterns and when to use them.

We would expect you to be fanatical about the web, having a good understand of the stateless nature of HTTP and an awareness of what’s going on under the hood in the ASP.Net stack.  We would expect you to have cut your teeth developing customer-facing web sites on a Microsoft stack using some of the following tech:

  • MVC5
  • C#
  • CSS
  • HTML5
  • Angular/Bootstrap/ jQuery
  • LESS
  • Source control such as GIT/SVN/TFS
  • SOAP
  • WCF
  • RAZOR
  • DI frameworks such as Simple Injector, Ninject
  • TDD
  • BDD
  • DDD
  • NUnit
  • Mocking
  • EF6
  • Nuget
  • Code analysis tools such as NCrunch and Resharper
  • Responsive web applications
  • Safe refactoring through the use of unit testing
  • SQL Server (ideally to 2014)
  • Performance analysis and improvement
  • Mentoring

Code quality must be paramount for you – we would expect you to be passionate about readability, reusability and good clean code.  You should have experience of unit testing and the tools and techniques that come along with it, such as mocking and DI.

In return, you will get to work on some very exciting projects, such as the complete rewrite of our desktop and mobile platforms in MVC5 and launching a number of new brands.  You’ll get a £500 Plural Site subscription, and Friday afternoon 10% time and Brown Bag sessions.
