Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
Their Learning Support Practitioners provide additional support and care to students with learning difficulties or disabilities across the College.
They are looking for people with experience of supporting young people on a 1:1 or small group basis in an educational setting. They would expect applicants to have an understanding of some of the following Special Educational Needs – Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, social, emotional difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties, dyspraxia and moderate to severe general learning difficulties.
Although you may be deployed across curriculum areas, they are keen to place staff according to particular experience and subject knowledge. At the York Campus, they have learning support vacancies in Animal Care, Countryside Management, Foundation Learning, Horticulture, Land-Based Technology, Sport and Uniformed Public Services. In addition, they require suitably qualified and experienced staff for the maths and English department to specifically assist in supporting the delivery of functional and GSCE maths and English qualifications
Fixed Term Until 29th June 2018 – Term Time Only (33 weeks)
The successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.
