Fleet Technical Support Manager - Yeovil

This company is one of the UK's largest independent suppliers of building materials to the trade with sales of circa £170m.

Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to appoint a dynamic Fleet Technical Support Manager to join their Centralised Transport Team based in Yeovil Head Office.

What will I be responsible for?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a transport environment, either in a workshop supervisor or service desk management role. The successful candidate will play a key part in driving the department forwards and embracing the company ethos, working to support the Head of Transport, Transport Manager, and the administration team to provide technical support and guidance to the whole Group network, in connection with commercial vehicles, cars, MHE, LGV drivers, plant operators company car drivers, occasional drivers, grey fleet and those requiring hire cars. They must have the necessary technical knowledge to be able to discuss vehicle repairs with suppliers and negotiate and authorise expenditure on assets. They will also be required to assist in the technical configuration of assets for procurement, to deliver the optimum operational solution whilst ensuring compliance and practicality, liaising with leasing companies and other contractual asset suppliers.

Who are they looking for?

They must hold, or be prepared to obtain, a Transport Manager CPC and be included on the Company's operator licences.

The role will be predominantly based in Yeovil head office, but they must be prepared to travel to any of their branches to assist with any technical issues/driver training required. Attractive salary plus company car.
