First Party Claims Handler

£18,055 Monday-Friday from 09.00-18.00

Our purpose is to remain as the number one provider of motorcycle insurance by delivering the best customer service experience at every opportunity.

We are currently going through an exciting expansion programme in our own in-house insurance claims service. You will provide advice on all relevant hire/repair options to our customers following a non-fault accident.

We are therefore looking for the right experienced candidates to fulfill our ambition.

Your duties will include:

  • To pro-actively manage a caseload of Accidental Damage, Fire and Theft motor claims to conclusion
  • Giving advice on the claim process to customers
  • Checking motor insurance claims progress
  • Making sure that premiums have been paid and that the policy covers the claim
  • Arranging recovery and estimating of customer vehicles
  • Gathering information such as receipts, photographs or valuations
  • Telling customers how their claim might affect their policy premiums in the future
  • Arranging payments on straight forward claims
  • Following the file ownership procedures
  • Referring doubtful, complex or high value claims to a Claims Manager
  • To continuously drive improvement in the service delivery to clients
  • To continually adhere to client specific protocols and best practice
  • To work closely with colleagues within the firm to deliver consistently high levels of service
  • To support the Company's values and policies in a professional manner
  • To create accurate Claims Management System records
  • To assist with both internal and external auditing

For this role, Customer Service experience is essential and you will need to possess an ability to deal with customers over the telephone.

For this reason, a good telephone manner is essential as is having a positive and enthusiastic approach to work, an ability to work under pressure, being a good team player and a provider of excellent customer services at all times.

This is a very busy and varied role and we are therefore looking for people who thrive under pressure and excel at challenges.

Experience in a similar motor claims role is preferable.
