Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Wellington, Somerset

Salary: up to £28.5k including shift premium depending on experience

Hours: Double Day weekly Rotating Shift

Monday - Thursday 06.00 - 14.00/14.00 - 22.00

Friday 06.00-12.00/12.00-18.00

The company is a manufacturer of acoustic and thermo-acoustic insulation products for the diverse range of automotive and industrial markets.

Working on the double day rotating shift, as part of a small team, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance and repair of production equipment, machinery, and site plant to ensure continuous production and process improvement.

For this role, you must have a City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent experience.

You will need to have a high degree of self-motivation, the ability to work with limited supervision, be able to plan and prioritise your own workload and have a flexible approach to work.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Maintains machinery & equipment to an acceptable & safe standard to ensure that production targets and quality standards are continuously met.
• Responsible for the installation of new machinery and equipment as required.
• Adopts a pro-active approach to machinery maintenance and repair to ensure continuous improvement of production efficiencies.
• Conducts mechanical maintenance and repair as appropriate.
• Liaises with Engineering Manager and Production Manager(s) to ensure awareness of anticipated downtime and reduced efficiencies.
• Completes relevant engineering & production paperwork as required.
• Ensures all machinery breakdowns are actioned and recorded on the computerised maintenance software program.
• Communicates with other engineering team members to ensure a smooth handover at shift changes.
• Conducts work with due consideration to the health & safety of self and others.
