Our client is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

Lecturer in VFX & Games

up to £32,911 p.a.

They are looking for a dynamic and creative practitioner to teach mainly across our Level 3 NextGen courses as well as our HND courses delivering on a variety of Games Design and Visual Effects courses. They are part of a handful of Colleges country wide that were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to deliver NextGen courses. NextGen courses are designed by industry and bring educators and industry together to develop the next generation of digital talent. You will be working within a highly motivated team to contribute to the continued success of the department.

Their courses cover the 3 areas of animation, games design and visual effects. They are looking to recruit lecturers with VFX experience. A related degree and/or experience in the games/VFX industry is essential. You will have a high level of interpersonal, motivational, communication and organisational skills. Some experience of Nuke is desirable or a willingness to learn it.

You will have experience and good working knowledge in the following softwares: Adobe Creative suite, Maya and Unity or Unreal Engine. Alongside this the ideal candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification or show the willingness to undertake appropriate training for which support will be given.

You will need to be highly organised and flexible in your approach to work. You will enjoy a challenge, and ideally have experience of working within a team. You should have a passion for working with people of all ages, especially young adults and school leavers.
