Public Affairs Opportunities
Newark or London
£25,000 - £40,000 inclusive of London Allowance

At a time of unprecedented political turbulence, wildlife needs courageous voices more than ever. The Wildlife Trusts are the UK's largest grassroots environmental movement. Trusts have unmatched opportunities to engage MPs in their constituencies and the central team has strong relations with Westminster and Whitehall.  Taken together we have a track record of achieving historic progress such as the Marine Act 2009.

Can you help us orchestrate our influence to help secure world leading government action for nature's recovery on land and at sea?  Can you help us give voice to the need for everyone to have the opportunity to experience the joy of wildlife?

We are seeking to expand our public affairs team and recruit an experienced Public Affairs Manager to lead this work and an Officer to work with them.

The Wildlife Trusts have a vision of people close to nature, with land and seas rich in wildlife. We believe that people are part of nature; everything we value ultimately comes from it and everything we do has an impact on it.  So we want to bring the natural world firmly into the centre of everyone’s lives.  Our movement includes 37 Wildlife Trusts in England, six in Wales and a Trust for each of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The coming months and years will be exciting times in public policy. You will help develop relationships with key influencers at Westminster during the Brexit process and ensure the effective promotion of our policies on priority issues and campaigns.

Experience of and a proven track record of working with MPs and Whitehall departments would be an advantage, as is experience of delivering successful advocacy campaigns and fronting policies and programmes. You will have knowledge of legislative processes and strong commitment to our mission.
